Film Stars: Assets or Liabilities?
MONEY - reported by Da Vinci. In a not-so-surprising move this week, Paramount Pictures has cut ties with it's A-List celebrity, actor Tom Cruise. A Paramount Pictures spokesman who declined to be named told Rotters International that the company had decided to drop the actor because of his erratic , foolish and childish behaviour such as jumping on the sofa on Oprah. Also, according to Mr. Redstone, the big kahuna of Paramount Pictures, "We don't think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot. As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." A chart of the demise of Cruise's worth. What is amazing is, just days after Cruise was kicked out of Paramount's doors, parent company Viacom Inc. share rose rose 12 cents to $36.98 on the Big Board. Some have attributed this increase to the fact that Cruise just left the company and people are starting to feel much better for it. Our very chee-bye correspondent monitoring the stock exchange believes that Cruise had it coming. By becoming a believer of Science Fiction and suckering his Xth wife into believing the same thing as well is just pure evil and as for jumping of sofas on prime time television? Ah Fatt thinks this xi lang tao got what he deserved. And he was right! Just look at Viacom's shares! So all in all, this is an interesting economic strategy and company's could do well to drop their stupid actors as well. It is costing you money. Leave a legacy, not a liability, fire Russell Crowe. 0 Comments:
